Kenya Mission Work

The Methodist Church has been active in the rural community of Meru for over 100 years. In recent years, as the economy has weakened, drought and famine have spread, and AIDS has grown to epidemic proportions, the local Methodist Church has reached out to help provide for the needs related to education, food and housing programs, and medical attention.  As the result of post-election violence, many families have lost everything and cannot afford the small amount needed to buy school uniforms and pay their school fees. FUMCWP has sent three mission trips to Kenya since 2006.
