SHARES - International Medical Mission: Mexico
SHARES delivers hope to needy families and children in the south of Mexico through quality health care, education, and training, by partnering with host country health care providers and volunteers. This program focuses on rural medicine, including women’s health, and cleft lip and palate surgeries for children. Treatment of a cleft lip or palate requires speech therapy, feeding instruction, orthodontics, psychological treatment, and multiple surgeries. The goal of SHARES is to contribute to the establishment of a multidisciplinary cleft and palate clinic in each of the partner states. Many members of FUMCWP serve in this important ministry.
