Adult Mixed Ensemble auditions begin August 20 at 5:30 pm - choir room

Senior High Ensemble auditions begin August 24 at 3 pm - choir room

Middle School Girls Ensemble auditions begin September 7 at 3 pm - choir room

Auditions will consist of the following:

Part 1: Vocal Solo Presentation
Each individual will perform one minute of a vocal solo from memory in front of a panel of judges with accompaniment.  It may be with piano (a piano player will be be available, bring a copy of music for them), cassette tape or CD (a CD player and cassette deck will be available - have your music cued).  You may use any standard vocal style, Broadway, jazz, church music, etc., provided it is with accompaniment.

Solos will be noted for tone quality, breath control, musicality, and over-all presentation.  Show us your best minute!

Part 2: Sight-Reading
You will not be asked to sight-read in auditions this season.  However each individual will be asked for their level of sight-reading ability.  Let us know if your sight-reading abilities are beginners, moderate, or advanced.

Part 3: Personal Interview
Each individual will have a brief personal interview.  The following questions will be asked in this time:

  1. Why do you want to be a part of this ensemble?
  2. What can you bring and offer  to this ensemble?

Part 4: Choreography Senior High Ensemble Only
Each individual will learn a 16 bar set of dance steps.  This will be rated on an individual basis, but performed in a group in front of judges.  You may take as long as you need (within reason) to learn the steps.

For questions, clarifications, and concerns contact Michael Roberts, Director of Music Ministries.  He can be reached through the church office (407-644-2906) or by email.
