Our Whole Community is an interfaith project with funding by the Winter Park Foundation and collaboration by First United Methodist Church of Winter Park, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Eatonville, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and Winter Park Presbyterian Church. The goal is to improve the health and wholeness of the Winter Park, Maitland and Eatonville communities through shared programs.

Wonderful News! Our NEW Community Garden at the Gardens of Depugh Nursing Center is coming along. We have four concrete garden beds built and we are in the process of building six more wooden garden beds. Want to lend a hand in this project? This is a perfect opportunity to get involved in a community project that will benefit others.

Gardening has been documented to have many health benefits.  In addition to the physical activity, there is the psychological satisfaction of watching things grow and numerous benefits from eating fresh vegetables as part of a nutritious diet. Now is the perfect time of year to plant vegetables in Florida. Our Whole Community, a group of local churches that work together to share ideas about healthy activities, including  encouraging personal gardening.

They will have garden boxes available by mid-August. The cost of the 28”X 14”self-watering box with one nutrient patch is $25.00.  For more information visit www.aGardenPatch.com or contact Cathy at csemyck(at)earthlink.net.
