There is a wealth of opportunities for adult Christian education here at FUMC Winter Park. Of course, the Sunday morning church school offers the greatest variety. However, there are other classes available at different times during the week.

Listed below are our adult Sunday school classes as well as the other opportunities for study during the week. We invite each adult to become involved in one of these small learning groups which the church provides.

Sunday School Classes

9:45 a.m. Classes

Bethel Seekers Class: Room 205, Family Life Center - Age 60 and older

Contemporary topics and Bible studies are presented by lecture, audiovisual materials and class participation. A variety of church leaders are used as teachers. Fellowship activities include a monthly bridge group.

The Branches: Room 236, Wesleyan Building -- Ages 30's to 50's

This class focuses on Biblical studies as well as contemporary issues with lots of discussion determining the spiritual application.

    Branches/Cornerstone - summer 2008

Cornerstone Class: Room 315, Family Life Center – Ages 30's and 40's

This class focuses on studying the Bible, learning how to be a better disciple of Christ, and dealing with various issues including Christian parenting.

Forum Class: Room 305, Family Life Center - All ages

This class is for those interested in contemporary issues. Participants engage in a lively, mutual and committed discourse on themes of practical interest, examined against the backdrop of the Christian journey.

JOY Class: Room 316, Family Life Center - Age 35 and older, singles and couples

Class members are involved in an eclectic quest for religious truth through Bible study and exploration of relevant social issues. The class sprinkles fun along the way.

Mary Martha Class: Room 234, Wesleyan Building - Women of all ages

Participants engage in a lively, committed discourse on biblical themes which are of spiritual and practical interest, examined against the backdrop of the Christian journey.

Sojourners Class: Room 205 Wesleyan Building - All ages

An exciting class for those who like to be involved in an in-depth study of the various books of the Bible

Study Class: Room 204, Wesleyan Building - Mature ages

This class is engaged in a search for personal Christian growth and understanding. It is led by various class members.

11:00 a.m. Classes

AfterWords Class: Resource Center, Family Life Center - All ages

This class focuses on issues and topics relating to the sermon each Sunday.  Short term classes on contemporary issues as well as Biblical themes with an emphasis on building community for this particular age group.

Other Opportunties

DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDIES meet weekly, September through May. Disciple Bible Study I is an intensive study of the entire Bible. It is followed by other studies on various sections of the Bible.

ALPHA is an 11-week course in basic Christianity. Classes are held throughout the year. Dinner and child care are available. If you are interested in the Alpha Course, call the church office at 407-644-2906 for more information.    

DAVE RAMSEY'S FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY is a 13-week video course designed to help families reduce their debt and manage their personal finances.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS WORKSHOPS: Everyone is called and equipped by God to be in ministry. This four-week course will help participants discover their spiritual gifts and determine where to use them in the community. Class times vary.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY GROUPS meet throughout the year to study a variety of books. Groups meet in the daytime and evening.

LIFE ENRICHMENT CLASSES meet frequently throughout the year to discuss certain life issues, such as parenting, relationships, marriage enrichment, being single, and coping with struggles.
