Adult Education
There is a wealth of opportunities for adult Christian education here at First United Methodist Church, Winter Park. While Sunday morning classes offer great variety, there are other classes available at different times during the week.
Listed below are our adult Sunday school classes as well as some of the other opportunities for study during the week. We invite everyone to become involved in one of these small learning groups which the church provides.

- Young Adult Study: This group was created for young adults as an opportunity for them to connect to each other and grow deeper in their faith journey.

No childcare available - Everyone Walking with God: (book study): This six-week study helps men and women begin a more intimate relationship with God today. Giving an example of what intimacy with God can look like, John Eldredge, author of Wild at Heart, asserts that everyone can have conversational intimacy with Christ.

Reserve childcare here - Dr. Bob’s Lunch Study: Come Thirsty (book study): An eight-week study will help participants consider what happens when they deprive their souls of spiritual water. The book extends hope to those whose souls are dehydrated from neglect, fear, and guilt.

Reserve childcare here - Crown Ministry: Dealing with the Unexpected: This 10-week class will help participants face the unexpected financial burdens in life. It happens to everyone at some time in our lives, whether it's a sudden illness, a broken appliance, or a lost job. And while it's a good idea to plan ahead, no one can foresee everything. The course will take a biblical approach for through those seasons with a new perspective and help to plan for the unexpected in life.

Reserve childcare here - Sweetly Broken (men and women): Life is messy and challenging at times, and emotions arise out of those moments. Some are recent, others were created in the past and are hard to let go of. Feelings of pain, anger, fear, loneliness, anxiety, doubt, regret, unforgiveness may leave people feeling unloved or unworthy. How we handle the brokenness determines what kind of life we will lead. This six-week study will look at and start to deal with the emotions that are standing in the way of leading a healthy, joyful and abundant life.

Sunday School Classes
All Classes are at 9:45am
- Bethel Seekers Class: For ages 60 and older, contemporary topics and Bible studies are presented by lecture, audiovisual materials and class participation. A variety of church leaders are used as teachers. Fellowship activities include a monthly bridge group.
Room 205, Family Life Center, ages 60 and older - The Branches: This class focuses on Biblical studies as well as contemporary issues with lots of discussion determining the spiritual application.
Room 236, Wesleyan Building - Ages 30 to 50 - Cornerstone Class: We are a laid back group of people, quick to laugh, ready to discuss, and yearning to be Christ to one another and in the world. While we are knee deep in professional and family demands, we understand the importance of having a community of believers with whom we can journey through life, always mindful of what God wants from us and our lives. Room 315, Family Life Center – Late 20's through 40's - Forum Class: This class is for those interested in contemporary issues. Participants engage in a lively, mutual and committed discourse on themes of practical interest, examined against the backdrop of the Christian journey.
Room 305, Family Life Center - All ages - JOY Class: Class members are involved in an eclectic quest for religious truth through Bible study and exploration of relevant social issues. The class sprinkles fun along the way.
Room 316, Family Life Center - Ages 35 and older - Mary Martha Class: Participants engage in a lively, committed discourse on biblical themes which are of spiritual and practical interest, examined against the backdrop of the Christian journey.
Room 234, Wesleyan Building - Women of all ages - Sojourners Class: An exciting class for those who like to be involved in an in-depth study of the various books of the Bible.
Room 205 Wesleyan Building - All ages - Study Class: This class is engaged in a search for personal Christian growth and understanding. It is led by various class members.
