There is a wealth of opportunities for adult Christian education here at First United Methodist Church, Winter Park. While Sunday morning classes offer great variety, there are other classes available at different times during the week.
Listed below are our adult Sunday school classes as well as some of the other opportunities for study during the week. We invite everyone to become involved in one of these small learning groups which the church provides.

9:45 a.m. Classes Bethel Seekers Class: Room 205, Family Life Center, ages 60 and older For ages 60 and older, contemporary topics and Bible studies are presented by lecture, audiovisual materials and class participation. A variety of church leaders are used as teachers. Fellowship activities include a monthly bridge group.
The Branches: Room 236, Wesleyan Building - Ages 30 to 50 This class focuses on Biblical studies as well as contemporary issues with lots of discussion determining the spiritual application.
Cornerstone Class: Room 315, Family Life Center – Late 20's through 40's We are a laid back group of people, quick to laugh, ready to discuss, and yearning to be Christ to one another and in the world. While we are knee deep in professional and family demands, we understand the importance of having a community of believers with whom we can journey through life, always mindful of what God wants from us and our lives. Forum Class: Room 305, Family Life Center - All ages This class is for those interested in contemporary issues. Participants engage in a lively, mutual and committed discourse on themes of practical interest, examined against the backdrop of the Christian journey.
JOY Class: Room 316, Family Life Center - Ages 35 and older Class members are involved in an eclectic quest for religious truth through Bible study and exploration of relevant social issues. The class sprinkles fun along the way.
Mary Martha Class: Room 234, Wesleyan Building - Women of all ages Participants engage in a lively, committed discourse on biblical themes which are of spiritual and practical interest, examined against the backdrop of the Christian journey.
Sojourners Class: Room 205 Wesleyan Building - All ages An exciting class for those who like to be involved in an in-depth study of the various books of the Bible.
Study Class: Room 204, Wesleyan Building - Mature ages This class is engaged in a search for personal Christian growth and understanding. It is led by various class members.
Young Adult Study is a group created for young adults in their twenties as an opportunity to connect to each other and grow deeper in their faith journey. Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m., meeting at Dr. Bob’s home. Contact: Dr. Bob, 407-644-2906 or Ben Richards via email.
Disciple Bible Studies meet weekly, beginning various times throughout the year. Disciple Bible Study I is an intensive study of the entire Bible. It is followed by other studies on various sections of the Bible.
Alpha is an 11-week course in basic Christianity. Classes are held throughout the year. Dinner and child care are available. If you are interested in the Alpha Course, call the church office at 407-644-2906 for more information.
Spritual Gifts Workshops: Everyone is called and equipped by God to be in ministry. This four-week course will help participants discover their spiritual gifts and determine where to use them in the community. Class times vary.
Men's and Women's Bible Study Groups meet throughout the year to study a variety of books. Groups meet in the daytime and evening. For more information on men's groups visit here, for women's you may visit here.
